Studio Website FAQs

The studio website is a way to facilitate communication between student and teacher, and also acts as an information resource for families. While I welcome questions via phone or e-mail from families, many technical questions may be easily answered by searching for it on the website. This may include the following:

  • How do I log in to the website?
  • How do I reset my password?
  • How do I view studio documents? (studio policy, tuition plan/calendar, swap list, etc.)
  • How much do I owe and when is it due?
  • I forgot to bring my payment to the lesson. How can I send you my payment?
  • When is my lesson time? Do I have a lesson on ___? (Helpful for holidays and breaks)
  • We cannot make the lesson on ___. How do I reschedule? Can I swap with another student?
  • When/what time is the studio recital?
  • We need a piano tuner/technician. Any recommendations?
  • We are looking for a good instrument (or to upgrade to a better one). Where can we look?

1.  How do I log in to the website?
When you register as a student, you will be given a user name and password if you did not create your own. Please write this down or keep it somewhere you can access it easily!

2.  How do I reset my password?
If you need to reset your password, go to http://www.musicteachershelper.com/reset-password
Parents and child students have the option for separate user names and passwords. If you register as a parent, make sure your username and password is listed for YOU, not your child, so that you can see financial information. Child students with e-mail addresses may create a username and password to access lesson notes and contact the teacher.

3.  How do I view studio documents? (studio policy, studio schedule, swap list, etc.)
- Go to www.theatkinsonpianostudio.musicteachershelper.com  and log in with your username and password

- Scroll over to the “Home” tab at the top left of the screen. There will be a drop down menu. Select “file area.” Studio documents are located here.

4.  How much do I owe and when is it due?
You will receive an invoice during the last week of each month.  Payment is always due by the 8th of the following month to avoid a $15.00 late fee.

5.  I forgot to bring my payment to the lesson. How can I send you my payment?
- Send it via mail or drop it off in the mailbox at the studio. My address is on the invoice.
-You can also pay online using a debit card.  Do not login on the website.  Click the "Pay My Bill" tab and pay using Square Cash.

6.  When is my lesson time? Do I have a lesson on ___? (Helpful for holidays and breaks)
- Go to www.theatkinsonpianostudio.musicteachershelper.com  and log in with your username and password

- Your individual schedule will be on the home page along with events for all students and available lesson times.

7.  We cannot make the lesson on ___. How do I reschedule? Can I swap with another student?

Visit the Studio Policy page for more information.

If you need to schedule a make-up lesson, please follow these steps:

  • Click on the “Login” page and fill in your user name and password (I have already set this up, it is the mother’s first and last names run together with no caps.  If you are an adult student, it is your first and last name run together with no caps)
  • Click on the "Calendar" tab on the left for a better view.
  • Click on an available green make-up lesson time that fits your needs.
  • Click "Register Event".
  • The website will send me an email.  No need to send a separate email.

8.  When/what time is the studio recital? (and other important events)This information is available in several locations: your individual calendar, the main page of the studio website, and on the studio calendar after you log on to the website. Please mark your calendar!

9.  We need a piano tuner/technician. Any recommendations?
The Graves Piano website has a list of technicians around Columbus. My tuner is Sam Stahl. Upright pianos should be tuned once a year, grand pianos twice a year, in the fall or spring.

10.  We are looking for a good instrument (or to upgrade to a better one). Where can we look?
Graves Piano & Organ Co (161 and Karl Rd.)
Columbus Piano Leasing (Worthington)
Henderson Music Co (Dublin, sells Yamaha brand pianos & keyboards)

The website is not perfect and there may be some glitches here and there. Please do not hesitate to contact me in case of any technical difficulties. Also, please take the time to explore the website in order to take advantage of it’s features – including the practice log, among others!
